Home Air Check™ Professional can help identify and reduce chemical sources in the home that can trigger asthma attacks.

An affordable indoor air quality test
that provides information on:

  • Levels of airborne chemicals (VOCs) that can exacerbate asthma symptoms

  • Hidden mold that is actively growing

  • Potential sources of contamination and how they can be removed or reduced to improve home air quality

If you or people you love have asthma, have your home inspector check the air in the home you're purchasing.

Airborne Chemicals in Your Home Can Affect People with Asthma
According to the EPA, indoor air quality poses a greater health hazard than outdoor air, with indoor air pollution averaging 2-5 times higher than outdoor air for certain Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). In fact, many homes contain 30-100 times higher total levels of VOCs. Most of these VOCs are below the odor threshold, so you can't smell them, but are high enough to affect your health.

VOCs are emitted as gases into the air from common household products and materials, and include many chemicals, some of which may be detrimental to short and long-term health. Even slightly elevated levels of VOCs and Mold can exacerbate asthma symptoms and trigger attacks in asthma patients.

Take Action to Improve Home Air Quality
Know if asthma triggers and airborne irritants are in your home or the home you're purchasing with Home Air Check™ Professional. Ask your home inspector or other professional to add the Home Air Check Professional test to your home inspection service. VOC levels, as well as Mold VOCs (the chemicals off-gassed into the air from actively growing mold), are measured and reported, and guidelines are provided to help reduce or eliminate the VOCs in the home, leading to a healthier home air environment.
